Reflection: Upon my completion of the assignment, I felt that I had taken new steps into my creative process in terms of detail oriented text. The propaganda piece was meant to portray Marylin Manson in a opposing light from what he is traditionally perceived as. In the media he is usually portrayed as a satanic devil worshiper which is often in line with his musical context and career. Given that his music caused such political debate during his peak as an artist, to a point where mass shootings were blamed on the shooter being influenced by his music, I chose to depict him in an entirely different light void of such evil attributions. In the propaganda piece I began my process by choosing an image of him praying, then after doing a graphite drawing I cut out the portrait. I then went to google and found the online PDF of the bible, which I command + F to search for every sentence in the bible containing the word "evil". I then copy + pasted the sentences into photoshop where I capitalized and scratched out the word evil, then did an overlay on an image of church stained glass.
