Warp Landscape Piece

Finished Piece

30 Minutes Writing
30 Minutes Drawing

Reflection: When provided the prompt for the piece I was a bit uncertain of what direction I would take in terms of what my end result would be. I had chosen "street" for my subject and tried to capture the likeness of the street in my neighborhood in the 30 minute drawing. However for the critique piece, I chose to turn the prompt provided upside down as my specified niche commute to anywhere in Miami is solely reliant on ubers and being a passenger in another persons car. The concept behind my piece is to portray how my only ability or chance to experience landscape is within the view from the interior space looking through windows from someones car. This means my landscape views are constantly changing, making it difficult for me to really be able to take in or be immersed a specified space or landscape myself as I usually have passengers in the car with me. This constant change, in retrospective to street is portrayed by the three differentiating streetlight colors (red, yellow, green) which are dividers of the piece in 1/3rds along with the uber route screenshots in the backgrounds.
